About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Mongolian Journal of Agricultural Sciences (MJAS) is a scientific journal which aims to encourage integration of knowledge among those disciplines that underpin agricultural and life sciences. The journal is published jointly by the Mongolian University of Life Sciences and Mongolian Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
MJAS is striving to provide the best platform for researchers and scholars worldwide to exchange their latest findings. Authors are encouraged to submit complete, unpublished, original works that are not under review in any other journals.
Papers’ content focuses on scientifically described or ensured experimental outcome observed on internationally accepted methodological approaches to understanding and managing actual interactions within or among agricultural systems.
The journal is published in both print and online versions.
The scopes of the journal include, but are not limited to, the following fields:

  • Animal science, animal breeding
  • Veterinary medicine
  • Agricultural economics and higher education
  • Agricultural engineering and technology, information technology
  • Agronomy, plant science, horticulture, plant protection, soil science, and forestry
  • Irrigation and water management
  • Aquaculture
  • Environmental protection, ecology, and biological resources
  • Land administration and land management
  • Biological engineering, including genetic engineering, biotechnology, and microbiology
  • Food security and safety
  • Agricultural commodities, processing and products
  • Natural sciences connected with sustainable agriculture

Peer Review Process

It is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal, which welcomes concise papers presenting original research data in all and related areas of agricultural and life sciences from authors throughout the world. All manuscripts are initially screened on their topic suitability and linguistic quality. Authors are fully responsible for the form and content of their papers. Failure to comply with the formal and scientific criteria should result in eventual resubmission or rejection of the manuscript. This system of refereeing, where anonymity is preserved both for the authors and the referees, has been adopted by the Journal; authors’ names, addresses and email from the title of the submitted manuscript, and the acknowledgement section is removed for the refereeing. The papers are reviewed by eminent scientists from Mongolia and abroad.

Experiments on animals

Studies involving animals must be conducted according to institutional and national standards for the care and use of laboratory animals were followed. Authors must obtain prior approval from their Institutional Ethic Committee for animal experiments or equivalent animal care and use committee(s). The name ethics committee, as well as relevant permit numbers, must be provided at submission.

Publication Frequency

The Journal is published triannual, twice in English (submission in January and March 30) and once in Mongolian (submission in September 30)
The journal publishes full-length original scientific paper, review article and preliminary communication. The papers are published in the Mongolian language with the obligatory an abstract in the English.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles in this journal, or to use them for any other lawful purpose.
