About the Journal
Aim and Scope
Journal of the Mongolian Chemical Society (JMCS) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Mongolian Chemical Society since 2006. The journal aims to promote the advancement of chemical sciences and related technologies by publishing high-quality original research and review articles. It serves as a national platform for researchers, academics, and professionals to disseminate scientific findings and exchange knowledge in chemistry and related disciplines.
JMCS is published once a year (November). Research articles are published in Mongolian, with the title, abstract, and keywords provided in English to increase the visibility of published research. English-language submissions may also be considered at the discretion of the Editorial Board. The journal was published in print until 2017, transitioned to an electornic format in 2018, and has been available on the MongoliaJOL platform since 2024.
The journal welcomes original research articles and review papers covering all areas of chemistry and chemical technology, including:

Монголын Химийн нийгэмлэгийн бүтээл (ХНБ)-ийг Монголын Химийн нийгэмлэгээс эрхлэн, хөндлөнгийн хянан магадалгаа хийж, жилд нэг дугаараар, 2006 оноос хойш хэвлэн гаргаж байна. Сэтгүүлд хэвлэгдэж буй эрдэм шинжилгээний өгүүллүүд нь бүрэн эхээр Монгол хэл дээр, өгүүллийн гарчиг, түлхүүр үг болон хураангуйг англи хэл дээр хэвлэн гаргаж байна.
Энэхүү сэтгүүл нь химийн шинжлэх ухааны хөгжил болон түүний хэрэглээг нийтэд түгээн дэлгэрүүлэх, химийн талаарх мэдлэгийг нэмэгдүүлэхэд хувь нэмэр оруулахыг зорьдог. Энэхүү сэтгүүлийг 12 жилийн турш тогтмол цаасаар хэвлэсэн ба 2018 оноос цахим хэлбэрт шилжиж, 2024 оноос MongoliaJOL платформ дээр онлайн хэлбэрээр гарч байна.

Peer Review Process
The Journal of the Mongolian Chemical Society (JMCS) is committed to maintaining high standards of scientific quality, originality, and research integrity through a rigorous peer-review process. All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo an initial editorial assessment by the Editor-in-Chief. During this stage, manuscripts are evaluated for their relevance to the journal's aims and scope, scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance, and adherence to the journal's formatting requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.
Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. JMCS employs a single-blind peer-review process, in which the reviewers remain anonymous while the identities of the authors are disclosed to the reviewers.
Reviewers are requested to evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria: originality and scientific significance, relevance to the journal's scope, quality and interpretation of the results.
Based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept without revision;
- Accept subject to minor revision;
- Invite major revision and resubmission;
- Reject the manuscript.
Authors receiving a revision decision are expected to submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response to the reviewers' comments within the specified deadline. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final editorial decision on all submitted manuscripts. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific merit, originality, and relevance of the submitted work. The average time from manuscript submission to the initial editorial decision is approximately twelve weeks, although the review period may vary depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.

Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles in this journal, or to use them for any other lawful purpose.
Editor Responsibilities
The editor of a peer-reviewed journal is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published, and, moreover, is accountable for everything published in the journal. In making these decisions, the editor may be guided by the policies of the journal’s editorial board as well as by legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism.
- The editor may confer with other managing editors or reviewers when making publication decisions. The editor should maintain the integrity of the academic record, preclude business needs from compromising intellectual and ethical standards, and always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.
- The editor should evaluate manuscripts for intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the author(s). The editor will not disclose any information about a manuscript under consideration to anyone other than the author(s), reviewers and potential reviewers, and in some instances the editorial board members, as appropriate.
- The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
- Editors should guard the integrity of the published record by issuing corrections and retractions when needed and pursuing suspected or alleged research and publication misconduct. Editors should pursue reviewer and editorial misconduct. An editor should take reasonably responsive measures when ethical complaints have been presented concerning a submitted manuscript or published paper.
Reviewer Responsibilities
- If the reviewer considers that there is any conflict of interest that may make compromise their review, they are required to make this known to the editorial office, and may be excused from performing the review. The reviewer may not be aware of this until they have accepted the invitation to review.
- Any invited reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its timely review will be impossible should immediately notify the editor so that alternative reviewers can be contacted.
- Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except if authorized by the editor.
- Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inacceptable. Reviewers should express their views clearly with appropriate supporting arguments.
- Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published data of which they have personal knowledge.
- Reviewers are required to respect the confidentiality of the peer review process and "refrain from using information or ideas obtained during the peer review process for your own or another’s advantage, or to disadvantage or discredit others.
- Reviewers are asked to return their reviews by the requested date, and to inform the editorial office if there is likely to be a delay.

Publisher's Confirmation
In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication or plagiarism the publisher, in close collaboration with the editors, will take all appropriate measures to clarify the situation and to amend the article in question. This includes the prompt publication of an erratum or, in the most severe cases, the complete retraction of the affected work.
Article Processing charge
The Journal of the Mongolian Chemical Society does NOT charge authors article submission fees and it does NOT charge article processing fees.
Publication Ethics
Publishing ethics of the JMCS is based on those by the committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) code of conduct guidelines available at https://publicationethics.org/
All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening using appropriate similarity detection software. Manuscripts containing evidence of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or self-plagiarism will be rejected.
Exemption of responsibility
The JMCS assumes no responsibility for the all contents of the published articles.
