The Necessity and Foundational Potential for Developing Unmanned Aerial Systems in the Armed Forces of Mongolia

Abstract

In modern warfare, the role of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has increased significantly, making them a primary means of aerial reconnaissance, strike, and surveillance. Experience from recent armed conflicts demonstrates that UAVs are highly effective weapons capable of suppressing traditional air defense systems, establishing air superiority, and rapidly degrading an adversary’s combat capabilities. This article examines global trends in UAV development and their tactical and technical advantages, and based on cost-effectiveness analysis investigates the necessity and rationale for developing unmanned aerial systems (UAS) within the Armed Forces of Mongolia. Furthermore, the study assesses Mongolia’s human resources, research and experimental infrastructure, and domestic development potential in the field of unmanned aviation, concluding that the indigenous design and production of national UAS would represent a strategically sound solution for enhancing national defense capabilities.

Монгол Улсын Зэвсэгт хүчинд нисгэгчгүй нисэх цогцолбор хөгжүүлэх шаардлага, суурь боломж

Энэ өгүүлэлд дрон буюу нисгэгчгүй нисэх аппарат (ННА)-ын хөгжлийн чиг хандлага, тактиктехникийн давуу тал, “өртөг-үр ашиг”-ийн тооцоололд тулгуурлан Монгол Улсын Зэвсэгт хүчинд нисгэгчгүй нисэх цогцолбор (ННЦ) хөгжүүлэх шаардлага, үндэслэл юу байхыг судлав. Мөн Монгол Улсад нисгэгчгүй авиац хөгжүүлэх боловсон хүчин, судалгаа–туршилтын бааз суурь, дотоод боломжийг үнэлж, импортын ННЦ-ыг эх орондоо нутагшуулах, үндэсний ННЦ-ыг зохион бүтээх, хөгжүүлэх, үйлдвэрлэх нь батлан хамгаалах чадавхыг нэмэгдүүлэх стратегийн оновчтой шийдэл болохыг тодорхойлж гаргав.
